Decent food and the waitress staff were very friendly The pasta dishes are proportioned for 2 people

What a great decision for my husband, daughter, and I to have dinner here on my birthday, Jan. 2nd ! We were greeted so warmly by Mr. Pete at the reception desk. We chose to sit in what became the "birthday room" full of people whose birthdays were on Jan. 2nd ! When Mr. Pete came in and announced that this was a room full of people with the same birthday, there was a joyful explosion of waves and happy birthdays to each other! Louie was our outstanding waiter who was so personable, observant, and efficient that it felt like he was always ten steps ahead of knowing our needs before we even asked! He took excellent care of us, and provided everything we needed, even down to the tiny lids for our take-home sauces! Our meals started with Louie bringing us large, soft rolls with cinnamon-honey butter. Delish! Next came our smooth and savory cream of crab soup with large chunks of real crab meat. The buttery rolls and bowl of cream of crab soup were a meal unto itself! Then came our broiled seafood platters piled high with two huge, delicious crab cakes, large shrimp, tender, large scallops, and seasoned fish fillets. Wow! For sides, the spinach with garlic, olive oil, and feta is so tasty and a must! The creamy mashed potatoes were so soft and buttery! Our plates, eyes, and stomachs were overwhelmed with this delectable meal! I took home the delicious strawberry shortcake with the packed portions of my meal that will take me at least three days to finish! I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, conversations with the other birthday diners and, of course, the fantastic food! This truly made my birthday special and enjoyable! We will definitely come back and will encourage others to come to this jewel of a seafood restaurant!

I come here for the yearly event. Every Black Friday they have Another Day Band perform. They play jazz, R&B. A little bit of this. A lot of that! They will have you jamming. Now blue dolphin is famous for their large crabcakes. Still delicious! Service was good as well. Unless you reserve a table. Seating is first come first serve. I look forward to this event each and every year. It's definitely a good time! Five stars is for the performance of the band!!

The food was very good, very large portion sizes (come hungry or have lunch tomorrow). We had the broiled seafood platter, single crab cake, and spaghetti (daughter ... who said she wanted seafood ... go figure). The crabcakes have more crab than I expected and are fluffy (like a soufflé) and not a lot of filler / breadcrumbs. The broiled scallops on the platter were large and plenty of them. And, for a seafood restaurant, the spaghetti (surprise, has meatballs) was good too. Service was a little slow, to be fair the place was packed. The mood was more like a family gathering than one that would suit a romantic night out (a little loud, but happens when it's full).

I came here for the Wednesday steak special. 10/10, I would come back again. I got a T-bone with 2 sides and the bill was under $30. The food exceeded expectations. I was super satisfied. You definitely won't find a deal like this no where else.

I have a weakness for Crab Cakes, sometimes I order them as an appetizer (for sharing) or as an entree. If they are on the menu, 99.9% of the time, I will order them. Maryland is known for their fresh and tasty Crab Cakes, I was not going to miss out. The Blue Dolphin exceeded my expectations. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, from seafood to chicken and ribs. The portions were huge, the service was quick and our Server, Jennifer, was the best! Even though it was a busy Friday night, she was very attentive and so friendly. The Crabs Cakes come as a platter with two side dishes, I chose sautéed potatoes and spinach with Remoulade sauce. Most places offer tartar or cocktail sauce. If they have remoulade, you know you're having the real deal!! The Crab cake was a solid mound of Crab meat, not a lot of bread crumbs or filler. I tried my best to finish, I even took a break and still could not finish this delicious meal. One Crab cake at this fine establishment was bigger than other restaurants that serve two the size of a hamburger pattie. It may be a couple of years before I travel to Maryland, but when arrive at Blue Dolphin again, I won't forget to tell 'em Rosemary sent me!!!
